i bought myself an Logitech V500 a few months back to accompany my future Powerbook. apart from the wireless USB thing its perfect. but its sooo small and i think it has the highest DPI for any infrared mouse too, but dont quote me on that (and that was back in october).
ive had it since october, use it every single day for an hour approx and the battery is still in 'good' rating! i never knew wireless mice were so battery-friendly. man i bought 8 AAA batteries expecting it to eat through them but at this rate these will last me till a G5 PB ;)

logitech are very good with mice. kudos to them

oh and subl1me; its an amazing mouse, probably wouldnt use it for desktop PC/Mac use but for portables... yea... highly recommended.

They do look bad, don't they? But is that because we're trained to perceive them that way?

I usually go out with my camera and walk around taking pictures. Then I crop and make them into wallpapers.

I have a 250gb Porche design and it's nice. I hasn't failed. It hums a little, and it spools down when I unmount the drive from the OS. I really don't get what all the design kudos are for it. It has a shiny front, and is pretty much a rectangle. I like SilverKeeper, the backup software that comes with it. Careful with what you choose to exclude during the backup.

Unless I've really missed something - the only time a Keynote has made it to iTunes was MW'07

Based on the database-driven backend, and reading through the online manual, I doubt there is a limit on the number of levels he can define.

So we'll just have to wait and see. :)

Intresting... so couldn't we have custom titles or something?

    Or more titles...

I figured here would be the most appropriate thread to post my 2,000th post. :)

And there was much rejoicing. *Yaaaaay...*
    Congratulations. :)

Just thought I'd post this. Not only are the Lyson inks better but their CIS system can cut 90% off the ink costs.

I could sure use something like that for my Canon i9900. :p

I checked their link and they don't show it. :(

But I bet the Epson crowd will love it. :D

the 20in in vertical next to a 30 looks really nice : )

    2407 is M-PVA only.

These two cards are so different in performance that you shouldn't even bother comparing them. This is much more of a question of do you want a very average card (6600) or a very high end card?

That you would even consider a downgrade just because of a little fan noise is amazing to me. Not a good plan my friend.

A rather large list of 'mostly' instrumental type bands playing post-rock, math-rock, metal / sludge, ambient, hip-hop, etc...

Aarktica, Ahleuchatistas, The Album Leaf, Aphex Twin, Beef Terminal, Beware of Safety, Boards of Canada, Bury The Sound, Caspian, Dilatazione, Don Caballero, Dysrhythmia, Eluvium, The Evpatoria Report, Explosions in The Sky, Followed By Ghosts, Fridge, ****** Buttons, Gas, Giraffes? Giraffes!, God Is An Astronaut, Godspeed You Black Emperor!, Hammock, Hella, If These Trees Could Talk, International Anthem, Irepress, Joy Wants Eternity, Landing, Litmus0001, Long Distance Calling, M83, Maitreya, Markus Guentner, Maserati, The Mercury Program, Midwest Product, Mno Sleeps, Mogwai, Mono, **Mouth of The Architect, My Majestic Star, On Fire, Ophoi & Tau Ceti, Pan American, Pelican, Pete Namlook & Mixmaster Morris, pg.lost, Piglet, Polmo Polpo, Ratatat, Red Sparowes, *Redjetson, The Redneck Manifesto, Robert Rich, **Rosetta, Rumah Sakit, Russian Circles, Saxon Shore, Signal Hill, The Six Parts Seven, Sky, Solyaris, Sonna, Stars of the Lid, Steve Roach, Surface of Eceon, Swims, Tal, Tarentel, Terre Thaemlitz, ***This Is Your Captain Speaking, This Will Destroy You, Thom Brennan, Tim Hecker, Tortoise, Tristeza, Turing Machine, Ulrich Schnauss, Upsilon Acrux, Waveform Transmission, When I Know You Will Too, Windy & Carl, Yppah, 1 Mile North, 65daysofstatic, 518vsJOEL, 37500 Yens.

*Redjetson is not instrumental but could be considered a version of Explosions in The Sky with lyrics.

**Mouth of The Architect and Rosetta are 50/50. 50% singing and 50% instrumentals. However they are both metal bands so if the screaming isn't you're thing...

***This Is Your Captain Speaking is absolutely fantastic. Both albums are on the iTunes store so go get a preview!

Hyper threading is only useful in multithreaded applications that are used for things like video or photo processing or 3D rendering. In a general sense, hyper threading is useful when multiple threads of execution are similar enough to each other. This is obviously true enough when applications are designed to make use of hyper threading. It will not be useful when doing multiple different things (e.g. running a lot of different applications at once).

As for video RAM, go with 1GB... would be a good idea if you ever decide to plug in a second monitor to your machine.

I suggest you re-factor your html. Move the aside below the section in the html. Float the section to the left with a specified width e.g 70%. The remove the clear from the aside and it should then slot into place with height maxed out.

I'd expect setting height: 100% would work with this method too, but it didn't for me in the little play I had.

Anyway it seems the main problem you have at the moment is that the section is limiting the height of the aside

I heard that the Special Red Edition iPhone 3G Pro will be released soon, if so, will it be 16GB or 32GB? Or, it will have both formats? Will you get this special version instead of a black or white one?

I heard you just wasted 5 minutes of my life. Had to respond to even make that time worth it.

Stating that you are the least confident about networking, I would suggest that you try it out before going into the woods - you can disconnect your mac from the Internet for a while or shut down your router / Internet box.

Don't forget to enable web sharing to start your local web server and write a simple test page.

Then try reaching that with your iPhone/iPad.

I've never used it, but I've heard it's the kind of thing that may help. It's called Plural Eyes from a company called Singular Software. It's supposed to sync audio and video. I hope it helps.

Try SafariSpeed (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/24331) to reduce the time it takes to load pages. It's free, and you'll likely notice a vast improvement.
SafariSpeed definitely did the trick! Thanks for your help. Why would they have incorporated a delay in page load on purpose?

I've tweaked Camino some so it works better, and since they seem pretty much the same except for some differences in appearance, I'll probably play around with them for a while and decide.

The Safarish theme suggested is still very buggy (e.g., the find bar is huge), so it looks like I'll be ditching Firefox and just picking up a RSS reader. By "TBE doesn't work properly" I mean that half of the options don't show up in preferences.

Quick question. When Steve announces a new iWork and iLife today, will the Apple Stores have it?

I guess my question is, are the new products sitting in the back room of Apple Stores, just waiting for the Keynote to be over, so they can be put on the shelf?
